The Energy We Exchange We Forget to Notice
There is a silent language we speak long before words leave our mouths—energy. It’s in the way we show up for ourselves and others, in the thoughts we think, the foods we eat, the spaces we create, and the boundaries we honor.
Too often we underestimate how powerful our presence can be. We focus on what we do, not realizing that who we are in the moment— grounded, frazzled, joyful, exhausted— sets the tone for every interaction. But when we become conscious of our energy, something shifts. Healing begins.
During my own journey, I’ve learned that most healing moments don’t always come from medicine or milestones. They come from feeling safe. Feeling seen. Feeling supported. That’s the magic of community. Whether it’s the kind words of a nurse, the comfort of a family members touch, or the peace in your own breath during a quiet morning— energy, not effort, is what sustains us.
Psychology tells us that co-regulation— the way our nervous systems respond to those around us— is a key part of emotional well-being. When we’re around someone calm and centered, our body takes that as a cue to relax. This is why energy isn’t just “vibes” —it’s biology. We are wired to feel each other, and to heal each other.
And I’ve experienced that firsthand. People constantly tell me that they feel my energy the moment I walk into a room. They tell me it grounds them, lifts them, recharges them. Some even say I bring a kind of calm motivation— like they can breathe a little deeper and stand a little taller. I don’t take that lightly. That kind of energy is sacred. It’s something I nurture, protect, and share intentionally.
Let today be a reminder that the energy you give is the energy you live. And when we choose intention, nourishment, and presence, we invite others to do the same. That’s how we heal— together.
Here’s one small thing you can do today: pause for 30 seconds, close your eyes, breathe deeply, and ask yourself:
What energy am I carrying right now?
That awareness alone is a form of self-care.
With good energy,
Rainey
